Jim Quattrone

I would like to thank all those who have supported us throughout the campaign. There were many family and friends that sacrificed these past several months to bring this campaign to a successful end.

Thank you to so many people in our various communities that shared their concerns and views. It I this sharing of information that can assist us in making our communities safer and secure.

I look forward to serving Chautauqua County residents and visitors.

Jim Quattrone for
Chautauqua County Sheriff

Integrity

Throughout my career and life, I have worked hard to do what is right for the right reasons and at the right time. I will continue to do this regardless of personal risks and will model a high level of integrity to those working alongside me. We cannot just list integrity as a core value, but must live up to it in our actions, decisions, and relationships. We must honor our conscience, question our prejudices, and consult wise counsel.

Courage

“Courage isn’t simply one of the virtues; it’s the form of every virtue at the point of testing.”    C.S. Lewis

I have demonstrated a willingness to think and act “outside the box” during my law enforcement career. Realizing the need to reduce recidivism and fight (smarter not tougher) the drug epidemic we opened a non-profit day center and later a residential center to assist those returning to society from jail, prison, or rehab centers.

Courage is contagious and can help reinstall a sense of worth and camaraderie into work environments. Principled leaders solve moral problems. Courage is the single most decisive trait in a leader. Leaders with courage lend backbone to their organizations. Courage is having “the mental and moral strength to venture, persevere, and withstand danger, fear, or difficulty.“ (Gus Lee)

Respect

Respect is the first behavior of leadership. Without unconditional and consistent respect for all persons, leaders cannot lead, and managers cannot manage. (Lee)

By demonstrating and practicing respect to those I have worked with over the past 30 years, I have been able to see various groups work together as teams and align their behaviors with high core values. This has been seen in the deputies who have worked alongside me and in the non-profit organizations I have worked with.

Every contact with our communities should be viewed as an opportunity to build a partnership which supports a joint mission to foster safety and security. This requires a relentless striving for integrity, buttressed by courage, and expressed in unconditional respect for all persons.
